Springfield Rotary Donates Outdoor Clothing to SEVCA Head Start

Inappropriate outerwear can be a barrier to children’s physical activity in child-care settings. To highlight this need, Springfield Rotary Club used a $1,000 grant and matched this amount with another $1000 from the Rotary Club, to purchase and deliver 60 rainsuits, 60 reflective vests, 60 pairs of mittens, 12 pairs of Croc shoes and four hanging/drying racks to SEVCA Head Start in Springfield (Pine Street Preschool) and Chester (Chester Community Preschool). Having a supply of outdoor clothing on hand will allow all Head Start students ages 3-5 to play outside most days. Head Start staff are grateful for this contribution for the children and will make such a difference in going outside in inclement weather for exploration!

SEVCA Head Start is grateful to Springfield Rotary for their support. The Rotary Club of Springfield, founded in 1927, is an active community service club of more than 40 members who engage in community and human service projects both locally and internationally.
